Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP (Denomination of Protected Origin) is born on gentle hills warmed by the sun and caressed by breezes, in the central of Italy. As the name suggests comes from an organic red wine grape variety grown in Abruzzo region.
It has an intense red colour, with faint purplish reflections. This wine has a fragrant and vinous bouquet with spicy sensations. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has full-bodied with notes of black cherry, red fruits, and a delicate spicy touch.

Food pairing
It pairs perfectly with rich first courses, red meats from structured cooking such as arrosticini, a tasty, typical dish from Abruzzo usually made from sheep or lamb meat cut in chunks and pierced by a skewed and cooked on a brazier with elongated shape. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo it matches impeccably also with seasoned cheeses, for example with Pecorino cheese.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a DOP wine whose production is only allowed in the provinces of Chieti, L'Aquila, Pescara and Teramo. In 2007 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was the first Italian wine (of the DOP category) for production.
